Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) Scheme

We are sure that you have all heard about the free boiler scheme run by your local authority. The idea is to help homeowners to reduce the cost of heating their homes and save on their energy bills yet in the same instance aid the UK as a whole to our reduce carbon emissions.

Government targets on home efficiency mean any person receiving ‘any’ form of benefits is entitled to a free installation of a ‘new’ boiler to help lower carbon emissions help manage cost of bills. This is a completely free service.

  • Boiler age has to be 8 years or more
  • You have to be the homeowner
  • Your household income has £55,000 or less
  • There’s no benefits required for this scheme

The ECO 3 Scheme free boiler scheme is targeted towards those low-income households throughout the UK. Homeowners that live in a household which is costly to heat or keep warm or where those living within the property are vulnerable to cold, it’s these types of households which are eligible for support as long as they meet the criteria set out, the criteria is more or less the same as stated before, the age of the boiler has 6 years or above and you have to be the homeowner but in this instance benefits are required in order to qualify for the free boiler scheme.
