Here at Consumer Rights, we actively work toward helping the British public navigate their way through the ECO sector and the seemingly endless red tape.

We all see and feel the cost of living continuing to rise, with little or no help for some of our most vulnerable in society. The energy crisis is having a significant impact on those vulnerable families, which can result in them having to choose between a warm belly and a warm home.

Vulnerable families are the most at risk within the community, and this should not be happening in 2022; both commodities are quickly being seen as a luxury. This is heart-breaking; we all feel deeply saddened at this current state of affairs.

We should, however, be thankful for those people reaching out to help the British public. One such person is the people’s champion, Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert.

We were recently sent Martin’s latest video, and everyone at the Consumer Rights offices struggled to absorb this message. In a passionate ‘video letter’ to the public and the Conservative leadership candidates, he outlines the impact additional price increases will have on households across the country.

One of the many points in his video letter, perhaps the most alarming, was his highlighting of the potential financial cataclysm shown by data modelling. In October, energy companies will likely raise prices by a shocking and shameful 65%. If the Money Saving Expert is right, a decision like this will devastate lives. Especially those who are most vulnerable.
